Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Guo Zhijun visited the Zhongtai Tajik-Chinese Agricultural and Textile Industrial Park and participated in the cotton harvest in local fields, according to the Chinese Embassy in Tajikistan.
During the visit, the diplomat reviewed the operations of the industrial park's enterprises, including the cotton processing plant and textile factory. Guo Zhijun praised the park's performance, noting that the project is a shining example of successful Chinese-Tajik cooperation in the agricultural sector.
According to him, the Zhongtai project covers the entire production cycle—from cotton cultivation to the production of finished textiles and their sale in domestic and international markets. This contributes to job creation, increased incomes for local residents, and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies.
"The Zhongtai project not only strengthens economic ties between China and Tajikistan, but also helps improve the standard of living of citizens, especially in rural areas," the diplomat emphasized.
As part of his trip, Guo Zhijun also visited cotton fields, where he interacted with local farmers and personally participated in the harvest.
One farmer said that thanks to the construction of a cotton processing plant by a Chinese company, villagers were able to work close to home, increased their income, and mastered modern cultivation methods.
"The cotton processing plant provided us with stable work right here in our home country. Not only did we increase our earnings, but we also learned new technologies for planting and processing cotton," the farmer noted.
The Ambassador emphasized that China intends to continue to support the implementation of practical and socially significant projects in Tajikistan aimed at improving the lives of citizens.
"We will promote more initiatives whose results will bring real benefits to the people of our countries," Guo Zhijun said.
According to the embassy, the Zhongtai Agricultural and Textile Industrial Park is one of the key projects in Chinese-Tajik cooperation. Its activities are aimed at developing the agro-industrial complex, strengthening export potential, and creating sustainable jobs in rural areas of Tajikistan.
