The Chinese company Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. has expressed its intention to collaborate with the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan on the construction of solar and wind power plants in the country. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
Mutually beneficial cooperation was discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd., Wu Lei, in Dushanbe.
During the talks, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of energy sector development areas, including the use of renewable energy sources. Representatives of the Chinese company were presented with an overview of investment opportunities and key projects in Tajikistan's energy sector.
The company has expressed interest in implementing projects in the construction of solar and wind power plants, high-voltage transmission lines, power plants using municipal waste, and in establishing a joint venture for the production of electromechanical equipment.
The parties confirmed their readiness for further cooperation and the development of joint projects aimed at strengthening Tajikistan's energy security and introducing modern technologies in the field of renewable energy.
