The 47th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on Veterinary Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Dushanbe, according to the Food Security Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Representatives from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the meeting, which took place on October 22.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziyozoda emphasized that developing cooperation within the Council contributes to the effective resolution of pressing issues in the field of veterinary security and the prevention of the spread of dangerous animal diseases.
The meeting participants presented reports on the current epizootic situation in their countries and discussed infectious disease prevention, including joint pathologies, stomatitis, arthritis, and avian influenza. Following the discussion, the parties proposed a set of measures aimed at strengthening joint monitoring and information exchange between veterinary services of the CIS countries.
By decision of the Council, the Republic of Belarus, represented by the Chairperson of the CIS Executive Committee, Tatyana Belyakova, was designated as the host party for the 48th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on Veterinary Cooperation.
