This morning, in Khujand, following tradition and at the initiative of the Executive Authority of the State Authority of the Sughd Region and the Executive Authority of the City of Khujand, a fair selling agricultural and food products was held to provide food for the population. This was reported by the press service of the Chairman of the City of Khujand.
At the fair, city residents had the opportunity to purchase agricultural products and food products at discounts ranging from 20 to 50 percent off the market price.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Sughd Region, Rajab Akhmadzoda, and the Chairman of the city of Khujand, Firdavs Sharifzoda.
According to the organizers, the fair featured an abundance of produce and affordable prices for the public. Over the first nine months of this year, agricultural producers in the region took effective measures to develop the industry, resulting in farms of all types of ownership producing 18 billion 834 million 300 thousand somoni worth of produce, a 110.0 percent increase over the same period last year.
The volume of livestock production for this period amounted to 5 billion 322 million 900 thousand somoni, and crop production – 1 billion 351 million 140 thousand somoni, while the growth rates reached 119.5 and 106.7 percent, respectively.
The fair became another demonstration of the successful development of the agricultural sector in the Sughd region and the availability of food products for the city's population.
