The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed deep concern and regret over the inclusion of some Tajik banks in the new sanctions list approved by the Council of the European Union on October 23, 2025, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported .
According to the department's statement, the Council of the European Union adopted a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, which affected the activities of a number of banks and companies in third countries, including Tajikistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan strictly adheres to its international obligations and is ready to cooperate with partners to prevent risks associated with the possible circumvention of sanctions.
The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is comprehensively studying and monitoring the current situation and is taking the necessary measures to minimize the negative consequences that may arise as a result of the application of these sanctions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that all actions are aimed at ensuring the stability of the banking system and the country's economic security.
