Eight schoolchildren from Dushanbe became prize winners of the International Knowledge Olympiad (IKO-2025), which was held from July 21 to 27 in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. This was reported by the press service of the Main Education Department of Dushanbe.
According to the order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan dated July 17, 2025, No. 913, a team of schoolchildren was officially sent to Cambodia to participate in competitions in mathematics and English. The Olympiad brought together participants from more than seven Asian countries, as well as representatives of five countries who joined the competition remotely.
Following the competition, students from the capital's schools won 8 medals: two gold, two silver and four bronze. The organizers were particularly drawn to the result of 4th grade student Ismoilov Mukhammad, who scored the highest in his age category (grades 3–4) and was among the top three participants in the Olympiad.
The Dushanbe mayor's office emphasized that the achieved results were possible thanks to the strategic support of the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali. In recent years, the capital has demonstrated a steady growth in educational indicators and active participation in international scientific competitions.
The participation of schoolchildren in the IKO-2025 Olympiad is seen as an important stage in the integration of Tajik students into the international educational space, as well as the implementation of the State Program for the Identification and Development of Talents in Dushanbe for 2021–2025.
