There is still a shortage of teaching staff in general education institutions in Tajikistan. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic, there is currently a shortage of 3,848 teachers in schools. This was reported by the Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Rahim Saidzoda at a press conference held today.
According to the head of the department, the total number of teachers in schools is 130,732 people. Of these, 86,250 are women.
As part of the mandatory distribution in 2024, 3,168 graduates of higher education institutions were sent to schools across the country. Of the total number of those distributed, 2,251 people started working. At the same time, 734 graduates were unable to start working for valid reasons, and another 183 did not show up for work without explanation.
The Minister stressed that additional measures are being taken to provide schools with qualified personnel, including incentives for young specialists, housing and salary supplements.
