The total number of registered vehicles in Tajikistan as of January 1, 2025 was 701,231 units, which is 64,938 vehicles, or 10.8% more than in the same period last year. This was announced by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrokhim at a press conference on the results of the transport industry.
According to the data provided, the structure of the republic’s vehicle fleet includes:
– 606,296 passenger cars,
– 53,967 trucks,
– 16,520 passenger buses,
– 6,007 units of special transport,
– 18,441 motorcycles.
Of the total number of registered vehicles, 54,573 units (about 10.3%) are actively used in various sectors of the country's economy.
The Minister noted that the development of transport infrastructure is accompanied by an increase in the number of entities operating in this area. Today, there are 2,837 enterprises with various forms of ownership in the republic, including:
– 2,439 motor transport entities,
– 261 enterprises and institutions servicing highways,
– 137 railway enterprises and institutions.
Compared to last year, the number of such enterprises increased by 4.7%.
Particular attention is paid to improving passenger transportation. Currently, there are 902 passenger routes operating in the country, including:
– 179 city,
– 536 suburban,
– 156 intercity,
– 31 international routes.
The transport sector remains one of the key elements in the development of Tajikistan’s economy, contributing to the strengthening of domestic logistics and the country’s international integration.
