The Tajik Technical University named after Academician Muhammad Osimi will begin accepting students in new, in-demand specialties — Cybersecurity and Smart Technologies — starting in the 2025–2026 academic year. This was announced by the university’s rector, Kudrat Davlatzoda, during a press conference dedicated to the university’s performance in the first half of the year.
As the rector noted, the launch of new training areas was postponed in previous years due to a number of language and technical obstacles. However, in 2025, the university management decided to open admission of students in these specialties, taking into account the growing role of digital technologies in various areas of the economy and national security.
"We are confident that now is the time to train domestic specialists in these areas. Today, issues of digital sustainability and the use of intelligent systems in everyday life and industry are more important than ever. Our university has the necessary potential to train qualified personnel," Kudrat Davlatzoda emphasized.
In addition, according to the rector, in the upcoming academic year, the Tajik Technical University will expand its educational offer as a whole – it is planned to admit students in eight new areas of training. The names of all new specialties will be announced additionally.
The university is currently completing preparatory activities, including developing curricula, recruiting faculty, and equipping laboratories.
The Tajik Technical University named after Academician Muhammad Osimi is one of the leading technical universities in the country and plays a key role in training engineering and scientific personnel for the economy of Tajikistan.
