President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, who arrived in Dushanbe on a state visit. After the official meeting ceremony, a one-on-one conversation took place, followed by extended talks with the participation of delegations from the two countries, the press service of the President of Tajikistan reports .
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, as well as current issues on the international and regional agenda, were discussed.
President Emomali Rahmon emphasized the interest of the Tajik side in the comprehensive development of relations with Mongolia, noting the friendly nature of relations between the two states. He expressed confidence that the current visit of the head of Mongolia and the negotiations held will become an impetus for strengthening and expanding partnership in all areas of mutual interest.
The parties paid special attention to the issues of activating interparliamentary dialogue and the activities of the Friendship and Cooperation Group between the parliaments of the two countries. The need for active work in this direction was recognized.
The Tajik side proposed to develop and approve a Bilateral Cooperation Program and a Roadmap for Joint Actions for the coming years. It was also proposed to create a Council of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Mongolia , which will facilitate the coordination of economic initiatives.
The first business forum of representatives of the business circles of the two countries , which is taking place in Dushanbe on July 24, is noted as an important step in this direction.
The negotiations discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the sphere of agriculture, especially in livestock farming. The processing industry, including light and food industries, as well as the extraction and processing of minerals were named as promising areas.
The issues of promoting the "green agenda" , sustainable development and environmental protection are considered separately.
The parties highly appreciated the potential in the tourism sector, noting the interest in developing mountain, ecological and health tourism in Tajikistan. The importance of developing interregional ties as one of the mechanisms of direct cooperation was emphasized.
Much attention was paid to issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation . The parties assessed the holding of Mongolian Culture Days in Tajikistan as an important first step towards strengthening ties in the fields of culture, education, science, media, youth policy and sports.
An exchange of views took place on current issues on the international and regional agenda. The Presidents expressed their readiness to continue coordination within the framework of multilateral organizations, primarily the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
Emomali Rahmon expressed gratitude for Mongolia's support for Tajikistan's international initiatives, especially in the areas of water diplomacy and climate resilience . He stressed the importance of practical cooperation in countering modern threats and security challenges.
