In Tajikistan, in the first half of 2025, the number of licenses issued for pharmaceutical activities and the legal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors decreased by 15 compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Republic, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, at a press conference in Dushanbe.
“From January to June of this year, the Ministry of Health issued 115 licenses, while in the first half of 2024 there were 130,” the head of the department noted.
According to him, despite the decrease in the number of issued licenses, the total number of pharmaceutical organizations in the country continues to grow. Today, 3,439 pharmacies operate in the republic, which is 65 more than in the same period last year.
The largest number of pharmacies are registered in the Sughd region – 983. There are 812 pharmacies in Dushanbe, 540 in the districts of republican subordination, 652 in the Bokhtar district of the Khatlon region, 383 in the Kulyab district, and 69 in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
The Minister noted that control over pharmaceutical activities in the country is being strengthened in order to ensure the quality and availability of medicines for the population.
