In the Khatlon region, 42 new manufacturing enterprises were put into operation in the first half of 2025, which allowed creating 278 thousand jobs. This was announced at a press conference by the head of the Department of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for the Khatlon region, Kurbon Hakimzoda.
According to him, there are currently 873 enterprises and factories operating in the region, 181 of which are seasonal. The opening of new production facilities helps reduce unemployment and improve the socio-economic situation in the region.
At the same time, Khakimzoda noted, 32 enterprises in the cities and districts of Levakant, Jaloliddini Balkhi, Jaykhun and Khovaling have remained inoperative for more than two years. The regional authorities are taking measures to restore the activities of these facilities.
In addition, the regional leadership plans to pay increased attention to the construction of new industrial facilities and the development of production potential.
