The Economic, Investment and Tourism Forum of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates was held in the capital of Tajikistan. The event was held at the Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel on the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the UAE and the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the economic department of Tajikistan.
The forum was attended by officials from both countries, representatives of more than 100 companies and organizations working in the fields of energy, logistics, construction, tourism, finance and information technology.
Welcoming speeches were given at the opening by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the UAE Abdullah bin Tawq Al Marri. Zavqizoda noted that thanks to the policies of Presidents Emomali Rahmon and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, relations between the two countries are at a high level and continue to develop actively.
According to the organizers, the volume of bilateral trade in 2024 amounted to $91.9 million, an increase of 61% compared to the previous year. In the first half of 2025, trade turnover reached $57.6 million, which is 2.3 times higher than the same period in 2024.
There are currently 36 UAE companies operating in Tajikistan, including the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, Sipar Group, Oxus, Masdar and others. Major investment projects include the construction of a 400-megawatt solar power plant and the creation of an export logistics center with the participation of Abu Dhabi Ports and Avesto Group.
The forum included thematic sessions on investment opportunities in energy, finance, tourism and industry. Speakers included Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Manuchehr Safarzoda, Head of the Tourism Committee Jumakhonzoda Jamshed Jurakhon, representatives of Masdar, 40 Capital, Epoint Zero, as well as heads of the First Bank of Abu Dhabi and AlifBank.
One of the key results of the forum was the signing of several agreements, including:
Air Transport Agreement between the UAE Federal Civil Aviation Authority and the Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan;
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, the UAE Council on Artificial Intelligence, the State Unitary Enterprise “Smart City Dushanbe” and Presight AI LTD in the field of implementation of digital technologies and AI.
The forum ended with meetings in the B2B and G2B formats, aimed at developing direct business contacts and forming strong partnerships between the business communities of the two countries.
The official UAE delegation also held a number of meetings with the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, as well as with the heads of key ministries and departments of the country.
