An intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of air transport was signed within the framework of the economic, investment and tourism forum of Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates. This was reported on Thursday by the National Information Agency of Tajikistan "Khovar".
The document was signed by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Habibullo Nazarzoda, and the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the UAE, Chairman of the Federal Civil Aviation Authority, Abdullah bin Tawq Al-Marri.

The agreement is aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of international air transportation of passengers and cargo, improving the quality of air services, and developing the transit potential of Tajik airlines. The new document opens up the possibility for Tajikistan to carry out both direct and transit flights through the territory of the UAE to third countries.
The parties emphasized that the development of air traffic will contribute to the growth of tourism and investment flows from the Persian Gulf countries, as well as the strengthening of economic and humanitarian ties.
The day before, on July 16, a meeting was held in Dushanbe between the head of the Tajik aviation department, Habibullo Nazarzoda, and the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the UAE, Abdullah Al-Marri. During the talks, issues of opening new air routes were discussed, including on the Dushanbe-Sharjah and Dushanbe-Abu Dhabi routes.
As Nazarzoda noted, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, targeted work is being carried out in the country to modernize civil aviation, expand the route network and attract international partners. Currently, direct flights between Dushanbe and Dubai are carried out by Somon Air and Fly Dubai.
Representatives of both countries expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation in the field of aviation, including increasing the number of flights and improving air travel conditions for citizens.
