Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Tajikistan and Qatar were held in Doha on July 15, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Farrukh Sharifzoda and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.
During the consultations, the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed. The parties paid special attention to the issues of attracting Qatari investments in the economy of Tajikistan, including in infrastructure and energy projects.
The parties also exchanged views on current international and regional issues, including security, the fight against terrorism and extremism, climate change, food and water security. The possibilities of cooperation within international and regional organizations were separately considered.
