In Khujand, under the chairmanship of the city's head Firdavs Sharifzoda, an extended meeting of economic activists was held, dedicated to the results of socio-economic development for the first six months of this year. This was reported by the press service of the city's chairman.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Sughd Region Anvar Yakubi, the First Deputy Chairman of the city, Deputy Chairmen, the head of the Chairman’s office, representatives of law enforcement agencies and other responsible persons.
Deputy Chairman of the city Muyassara Kakhhori made a report on the results of activities for the reporting period. In her speech, she noted that the daily work of local authorities is carried out within the framework of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, decisions of the Government of the country, instructions of the head of the Sughd region, with an emphasis on the accelerated development of all sectors of the economy.
According to her, despite global challenges, 23 small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises were built and commissioned in Khujand in the first half of this year. The total volume of investments attracted exceeded 20 million somoni, while 142 new jobs were created. Thus, the total number of industrial enterprises reached 321.
The volume of industrial output amounted to 922.7 million somoni. 126 enterprises of the city produced import-substituting products worth 490.9 million somoni, which is 82.8 million somoni (20.3%) more than in the same period last year.
Particular attention was paid to the activities of two new enterprises opened in the Sogd free economic zone:
— Afrang Plastik, specializing in the production of plastic and aluminum profiles, is equipped with equipment from Germany, South Korea and China;
— Tojpanel, founded by entrepreneur Sukhrob Mirzoakhmadov, produces construction panels using Chinese technologies and local raw materials.
In preparation for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, construction, reconstruction and major repairs of 950 facilities were planned. To date, work has been completed on 964 facilities, which is 101.5% of the plan. In the first half of the year alone, 239 social, industrial, cultural, sports and residential infrastructure facilities were commissioned.
In order to widely promote the provisions of the annual Address of the President of the country to the parliament, a schedule of meetings in city institutions with the participation of scientists and experts was drawn up. Cultural and political events were also organized: conferences, round tables, thematic meetings and festive events in educational institutions and mahallas.
The city chairman Firdavs Sharifzoda gave specific instructions to the heads of all sectors with an emphasis on eliminating shortcomings and activating production activities. In his speech, Anvar Yakubi noted the positive dynamics of the indicators, expressed gratitude for the results achieved and emphasized the importance of further attracting investment, developing tourism infrastructure and successfully preparing for the anniversary date.
At the end of the meeting, Firdavs Sharifzoda expressed confidence that the sustainable development of the city is ensured through the joint work of activists and city residents, and the instructions of the head of state will be fulfilled on time and with high quality.
Following the meeting, several activists were awarded letters of gratitude and memorable gifts on behalf of the city chairman.
