Schoolchildren from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are taking part in the tenth cultural and educational forum "Children of the Commonwealth", which is being held in Belarus this year. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee
Every day one of the delegations from the CIS countries presented their country.
The delegation from Tajikistan introduced the participants to the traditions and culture of their country.
The guys showed what real Eastern hospitality is: they prepared an exhibition with jewelry, traditional headdresses, precious stones and handicrafts. Before the concert, the forum participants were greeted with fragrant sweets and national dishes.
Schoolchildren from the CIS countries were told about the Tajik wedding ceremony: the night before the wedding, the groom comes to the house of the bride, who is waiting for him behind a “chodar” – a special curtain that mothers lovingly sewed with their own hands for their daughters.
Representatives of Tajikistan told about the national flatbread – kulcha. According to legend, during the war women cut off a small piece and asked their sons or husbands to bite off the bread before leaving. In this way, the energy of the home was put into it, which, as was believed, helped loved ones return home.
The concert began with a minute of silence — in memory of those who gave their lives for the Victory. Many numbers were dedicated to the military theme — poems and songs were performed, imbued with deep respect and gratitude.
The guys performed numbers in which they revealed the flavor of their country through traditional national songs and modern rhythms of Tajik pop music.
The guest of honor of the event was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Belarus, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States Bakhtovar Safarzoda.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namayandagon of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda sent a greeting to the participants of the forum. In his opinion, the forum is a unique event based on friendship, solidarity and creative cooperation.
“Thanks to the forum, since 2013, hundreds of children and schoolchildren from CIS member countries have found friends, exchanged traditions and cultures, strengthening their respect for universal human values,” the speaker noted.
He also noted that the forum is taking place in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
“Victory is our common heritage, the memory of which we must preserve and pass on from generation to generation,” the welcoming speech of the head of the upper house of the Tajik parliament reads.
