On July 23, the risk of mudslides remains in the foothills and mountainous regions of the republican subordination, Sughd Region, and western regions of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, according to the press service of the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In addition, elevated levels of air pollution persist in the cities and districts of Khatlon Region, Districts of Republican Subordination, the city of Dushanbe, and in the cities and districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
According to the Agency, the deteriorating air quality is due to the influx of dust from the southern and southwestern regions. The atmosphere is experiencing elevated concentrations of suspended dust particles, including particles up to 10 micrometers in size (PM10) and up to 2.5 micrometers in size (PM2.5).
Due to adverse weather conditions, citizens are advised to take precautions.
