Almost 2.7 billion somoni were allocated for pension payments in Tajikistan over the past six months.

In the first half of 2026, 2 billion 684.4 million somoni were allocated to pay pensions and benefits to residents of Tajikistan. The funds were transferred on time and in full. This was announced today at a press conference by Tajikistan's Minister of Finance, Kahhorzoda Fayziddin Sattor .

According to him, pension costs were financed by the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions under the Government of the Republic.

Of the total payments, 2 billion 669.6 million somoni were used to finance pensions and state insurance payments, and another 14.8 million somoni were used to pay one-time childbirth benefits and funeral benefits.

In addition, 5.8 million somoni were allocated from the state budget to finance employment programs. These funds are used to pay unemployment benefits, organize public works, provide vocational training for unemployed citizens, and provide targeted social assistance.

Another 4.7 million somoni was allocated to organize summer recreation and health improvement for children from low-income families.

As the Minister noted, as of July 1, 2026, there were 876,924 pensioners registered in Tajikistan, of which 562,658 people receive old-age pensions, 149,368 disability pensions, 104,925 survivor's pensions, and 59,973 are recipients of social pensions.

According to Kahhorzod Fayziddin Sattor, timely financing of pension payments remains one of the priorities of state social policy.
