On July 17, 2026, during a working visit to Shanghai, People's Republic of China, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir met with the management of Huayou. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the exploration, production, and processing of lithium in Tajikistan, as well as the organization of battery production in the country for the domestic market and export supplies.
Huayou specializes in the development of lithium, nickel, and cobalt deposits, as well as the production of lithium-ion battery materials. The company's announcement notes its extensive experience and expertise in implementing projects in this area.


Participants at the meeting focused on attracting investment, implementing modern technologies, localizing production, and creating new high-tech jobs.
According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the implementation of such projects will contribute to the development of a modern industrial chain in Tajikistan, including the advanced processing of mineral raw materials, the production of high-value-added products, and the strengthening of the country's industrial potential.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and agreed to continue expert consultations on the development of joint projects in lithium mining and battery production in the Republic of Tajikistan.
