On July 15, Tajikistan's Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, met with United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development Navid Hanif in New York. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed issues related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Particular attention was paid to the results of the Fourth Dushanbe Conference on the Implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028," as well as preparations for upcoming United Nations events dedicated to water resources.
Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation in implementing the Medium-Term Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026–2030, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting Tajikistan's international initiatives in the areas of water resources, glacier conservation, and adaptation to climate change.
