More than 150 amusement park rides in Tajikistan have been found to have various technical defects, including worn seat belts, deformed structural elements, and a partial lack of protective fencing.
This was announced at a press conference by Ardasher Mirzozoda, First Deputy Head of the State Service for Supervision of Industrial and Mining Safety under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to him, the technical condition of attractions in Dushanbe's culture and recreation parks is under constant control of the Service.
On behalf of the Mayor of Dushanbe, from March 12 to 18, 2026, Service specialists inspected the technical condition of attractions in a number of parks and entertainment facilities in the capital.
Inspections were conducted at the state institution "Sadriddin Aini Park of Culture and Recreation", the state institution "Khayyam Park", the state institution "Zoo", OOO "Vose-2005", the state institution "Park Nishon", the state institution "Park named after Mironenko" and OOO "Entertainment Complex "Nur".
Following inspections of more than 150 attractions, various technical deficiencies were identified.
Among the violations, experts recorded worn seat belts, deformation of individual structural elements, and a partial absence of protective barriers and safety information signs.
In addition, pre-season technical inspection of a number of attractions could not be carried out due to the fact that their owners did not provide the necessary technical documentation.
Based on the inspection results, the heads of the relevant organizations were issued mandatory orders to eliminate the identified violations.
At the same time, specialists conducted awareness-raising activities with responsible officials and maintenance personnel. The focus was on accident prevention and strict adherence to safety regulations.
In addition, special seminars were organized in Dushanbe, Bokhtar and Khujand.
During the seminars, specialists used presentations to demonstrate examples of accidents on amusement rides, explaining the causes of their occurrence and measures to prevent such incidents.
Currently, there are over 289 registered amusement parks in Tajikistan. Over 162 of these are located in Dushanbe and included in the State Register.
According to Ardasher Mirzozoda, the main causes of accidents in 2026 are the failure to conduct a full technical inspection and the presence of technical faults.
Among other reasons, he cited the failure of protective equipment to meet safety requirements, including seat belts and buckles, the operation of rides without state registration, and the insufficient qualifications of service personnel.
The Service stated that it will continue to monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and safety regulations during the operation of amusement rides and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
