Khujand City Clinical Hospital No. 1 successfully performed the first bariatric surgery in the Sughd region. This marked a new stage in the development of minimally invasive surgery and the provision of high-tech medical care in the region, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan.
According to medical experts, bariatric surgery is considered an effective treatment for severe forms of obesity and related diseases.


In particular, this type of surgical treatment is used for concomitant diseases, including diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, sleep apnea and other metabolic disorders.
The operation was performed by surgeons from the Adult Surgery Department of Khujand City Clinical Hospital No. 1. The surgery was performed using modern laparoscopic technologies and in accordance with international standards.
The patient's condition is currently assessed as satisfactory and he is under constant medical supervision.


The Ministry of Health and Social Protection notes that this type of surgical intervention demonstrates the consistent development of the healthcare system in the Sughd region, the improvement of the professional skills of doctors, and the introduction of advanced medical technologies.
