In Tajikistan, following engineering and geological surveys, 142 households have been advised to relocate from potentially hazardous areas, according to the country's Main Geology Department.
In the first half of 2026, department specialists conducted engineering and geological surveys in 55 districts across the country. Based on these surveys, areas were identified where living conditions could pose a potential hazard.
Families whose homes are located in such areas are advised to move to safer places.
However, the agency does not specify in which regions the surveyed settlements are located or what specific natural processes are associated with the potential threat.
A year earlier, in the first half of 2025, 68 families received similar recommendations. Geologists also recommended relocating one school to a safer location.
Thus, over the course of a year, the number of families recommended to relocate from potentially dangerous areas has more than doubled.
