Tajikistan's Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense reported the discovery of the body of Amina Amonulloeva, the wife of the former chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Alisher Mirzonabot.
According to the agency, the woman's body was discovered in Afghanistan following cooperation between border units of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan and Afghan border guards. The body was subsequently handed over to the Tajik side.
According to the Emergency Situations Committee, the body was found in the Panj River near Ivalki, Nuriddin Makhmudi Shamsiddin Jamoat, Shokhin District, Khatlon Region. Emergency Situations Committee rescuers handed it over for identification.


According to the results of the forensic examination, the deceased was Amina Amonulloeva, the wife of Alisher Mirzonabot.
Alisher Mirzonabot's body was discovered on June 30. After the necessary procedures, he was buried in his home village of Shidz in the Rushan district.
The Emergency Situations Committee also reported that search operations to locate Alisher Mirzonabot's daughter are ongoing. Rescuers and representatives from other relevant agencies are participating.
