The progress of preliminary work on the Tajik capital's metro construction project was discussed in Dushanbe, NIAT Khovar reports, citing the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Four projects are currently being implemented in Tajikistan's transport sector with the support and technical assistance of the Republic of Korea. Three of these are in the final stages and are being finalized.
This was announced during a meeting between the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, Azim Ibrohim, and a delegation from the Republic of Korea, led by the Executive Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Korea National Railway (KNR), Yun Hak-soon, in Dushanbe.
The meeting participants discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of railway transport, as well as the implementation of investment projects in this area.
The parties paid special attention to the Dushanbe metro construction project. Participants expressed satisfaction with the progress of preliminary work on its implementation.
The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the road transport sector between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Korean National Railway Company was signed on July 1, 2024.
Korea National Railway (KNR) is a state-owned company responsible for the construction, development, and maintenance of railway infrastructure in South Korea. It was established in January 2004 as part of the country's railway reform.
