In Tajikistan, the threat of mudslides remains in the coming days, and deterioration in air quality is expected due to a dust storm, according to the press service of the Hydrometeorology Agency under the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the agency, from July 1 to 3, due to precipitation in the foothill and mountainous regions of the Districts of Republican Subordination, as well as in the Sughd and Khatlon regions, the threat of local mudflows remains.
Furthermore, from July 2 to 4, increased air pollution is expected in cities and districts of the Khatlon Region, the Districts of Republican Subordination, and the city of Dushanbe. According to forecasters, this will be caused by unfavorable meteorological conditions, including dust storms and haze coming from the south and southwest.
As noted in the report, an increase in the concentration of suspended dust particles in the air is predicted, including particles with a diameter of up to 10 micrometers (PM10) and up to 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5).
The Hydrometeorological Agency recommends that residents of the country take precautions during periods of adverse weather conditions.
