On July 1, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Chairman of the Majlis Shura (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state emphasized that Tajikistan views Saudi Arabia as one of its important partners in the Arab and Islamic world.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the progressive development of bilateral relations in the field of parliamentary diplomacy and confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening and expanding cooperation.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to maintaining political dialogue, as well as expanding cooperation in the economic, social, cultural and humanitarian spheres.



The parties noted the importance of developing cooperation in implementing joint investment projects in the real sectors of Tajikistan's economy that are of mutual interest. They also emphasized that further involvement of Saudi Arabian financial institutions in projects of national and regional significance will contribute to the development of a mutually beneficial partnership.
The parties identified expanded cooperation in the light and food industries, pharmaceuticals, the agricultural sector, and the development of transport infrastructure as promising areas of cooperation.


The meeting participants also focused on expanding cooperation in the fields of science and education, healthcare, culture, sports, and tourism.
In addition, a thorough exchange of views took place on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
In this context, the Tajik side expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for supporting Tajikistan’s initiative to declare 2027–2036 the “Decade of Strengthening Peace for Future Generations.”
