A ceremonial gathering to mark the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. July 1st is considered the founding day of the CPC, and as part of the gathering, a ceremony was held today to award the "First of July Medal" for exceptional contributions to the development of the Party and the country. Eight people received the award this time. Other awards were also presented, recognizing outstanding CPC members, distinguished party workers, and leading grassroots Party organizations from across the country. General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping addressed the gathering. He said that over the past 105 years, the CPC has completely transformed the destiny of the country and its people. It has found the right path to national rejuvenation, demonstrated the power of Marxism, and has become truly strong and seasoned. The Chinese leader added that today the Party calls on its members to remain steadfast, to believe in victory, to work together to build a community with a shared future for humanity, relying on the people and responding to any challenges to achieve the ultimate goal – to build a modern socialist nation by mid-century.
