On June 26, an expert group meeting was held at the Commonwealth of Independent States headquarters. Draft regulations for the "Excellent Television and Radio Broadcaster of the Commonwealth of Independent States" award were approved, along with draft resolutions for the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of Government. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the initiative put forward by the Republic of Tajikistan several years ago, according to the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee.
Representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the CIS Executive Committee participated in the meeting, which was held via videoconference. Andrey Matyash, Director of the CIS Executive Committee's Information and Analytical Department, opened the meeting, and Andrey Donchenko, representative of the Russian Federation, was elected as the chair.

Experts reviewed proposals submitted by CIS member states and developed a unified position on funding for the production of the badge and accompanying certificate. Following the discussion, the draft documents were finalized and agreed upon. They will soon be submitted for national approval and then submitted to the CIS Council of Heads of Government.
As noted, the development of the new award follows an initiative by the Republic of Tajikistan, which was supported in September 2022 at a joint meeting of the Council of Heads of State and Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Organizations of the CIS Member States and the Administrative Council of the Interstate Information Pool. It was the Tajik side that proposed establishing the "Excellent Television and Radio Broadcaster of the Commonwealth of Independent States" badge.
It is expected that the new award will be presented to citizens of CIS member states, as well as citizens of countries with observer or partner status in the Commonwealth. The badge will recognize employees of media management bodies and television and radio broadcasting editorial staff who have made a significant contribution to the development of television and radio broadcasting, achieved high professional results, and contributed to the development of the common information space of the CIS.
According to the design, the badge will be a circular, raised-surface design. An image of a television and radio tower will be placed in the center, with the inscription "Excellent Worker in Television and Radio of the CIS" around the circumference.
