Officers from the Customs Service's Department for Combating Customs Offenses under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan seized a large shipment of illegal tobacco products, the Customs Service press service reported .
According to the agency, on June 23, 2026, during a customs operation in the Chorbog microdistrict of Dushanbe, a Toyota Sienna with state registration number 2183DP01 was stopped and inspected.
During a search of the vehicle's luggage compartment, customs officers discovered four boxes of tobacco products. Each box contained 50 cartons, seizing a total of 2,000 packs of MILANO LONDON cigarettes manufactured in the United Arab Emirates.






During the inspection, it was established that tobacco products were imported into the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan without customs documents and without the required excise stamps.
According to the Customs Service, the cigarettes belong to a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, Muhammadolim Toirovich Nozimov, born in 1991, a resident of the Matcha district of the Sughd region.
In his explanation, the man stated that he received tobacco products from one person to pay off a debt of 1,500 US dollars and delivered them to Dushanbe for further sale.
Investigative measures aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
