The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, reported that Russian forces launched ballistic missiles toward the Ukrainian capital.
"Stay in safe places until the all-clear," he addressed city residents via his Telegram channel.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of a high risk of ballistic missile use in the country's northern regions and urged citizens to remain in shelters until the alert is officially over.
In addition to Kyiv, explosions were recorded in other regions of Ukraine throughout the night.
According to the Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne, a series of explosions were heard in Poltava and Sumy. Following the attack, Poltava authorities reported power outages in certain areas of the city. Energy service specialists began assessing the damage and carrying out restoration work.
Authorities in the Zaporizhzhia region also reported explosions. Details about the nature of the damage and possible consequences are being clarified.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Air Force warned residents of the Sumy region about the threat of the use of guided aerial bombs. Local residents were therefore advised to seek shelter and observe safety precautions.
