The Tajikistan Youth Chess Team is participating in the FIDE World Championship for Boys and Girls U14, U16, and U18, which is taking place from June 14 to 27 in Montesilvano, Italy. This was reported by the press service of the Tajikistan Chess Federation.
The World Chess Championship is considered one of the most prestigious international competitions for young chess players. This year, the tournament attracted over 800 participants from dozens of countries.


The competition is held using the Swiss system over 11 rounds. Each match is crucial for determining the final standings and competing for top positions in their age categories.



Tajikistan is represented at the World Championship by David Naimov, Bogdan Voskolovich, Payrav Kodiri, Jahongir Azizzoda, Esamin Khodjaeva, Tomiris Khodjaeva and Nozanin Makhmudova.
The head of the delegation is Jamshed Isaev.
The Tajikistan Chess Federation noted that participation in the world championship provides young athletes with the opportunity to test their skills on the international stage and gain valuable competitive experience. Furthermore, competing in the world championship is an important milestone in the careers of young chess players.


The FIDE World Championship traditionally brings together the strongest representatives of their age categories and is one of the key tournaments on the international junior calendar.
