The city of Konotop in Ukraine's Sumy region was left without power and water after an attack, according to Mayor Artem Semenikhin.
According to him, a woman born in 1984 died as a result of the incident. Four other people—two men and two women—were injured.
According to the mayor, the victims suffered extensive burns to various parts of their bodies. One man suffered burns covering 55 percent of his body.
Due to interruptions in utility infrastructure, water supplies in Konotop are being suspended. Authorities have urged residents to stock up on water.
Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that a drone struck a residential building in the Znob-Novgorod community, causing a fire. He said a 67-year-old woman, who would have turned 68 next week, died.
According to regional authorities, the deceased's two young grandchildren were also in the house at the time of the incident. They were taken to a hospital for examination. According to preliminary reports, the children did not sustain any serious injuries.
Other casualties have also been reported in various districts of the Sumy region. In the Belopolska community, women aged 39, 66, and 70 were injured in a drone attack.
In the Seredino-Buda community, a 60-year-old man was injured after an unmanned aerial vehicle struck a car.
A 63-year-old woman was injured in a drone attack in the Sadovskaya community.
In addition, a 32-year-old man was injured in the Shostka community.
