On June 10, 2026, a meeting of customs experts from the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Burabay, Kazakhstan. The meeting focused on coordinating draft resolutions on issues included in the agenda of the 82nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS Member States, which was scheduled for June 11, 2026.
Representatives of the customs services of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the meeting. Mikhail Myskin, Director of the Economic Cooperation Department of the CIS Executive Committee, also participated in the event.



During the discussions, experts addressed a number of issues related to the development of customs cooperation. Particular attention was paid to information technology and software tools planned for use in improving customs administration. Participants also discussed issues of goods classification, facilitating transit shipments, and other areas of cooperation.
Secretary of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS Member States Sergey Kuryakov informed participants about the progress of implementing the decisions of the previous, 81st meeting of the Council, which took place on September 26, 2025, in Dushanbe.
It is reported that the 82nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the CIS Member States is scheduled to include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the customs services of the Commonwealth countries on the facilitation of transit shipments. Expert-level decisions are also expected to be adopted on nine agenda items.
