On June 9, 2026, in Palo Alto, Azizjon Azimi, Chairman of the Council on Artificial Intelligence under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, held a meeting with Robert Collura, Lead Engineer for Applied Artificial Intelligence at SpaceXAI.
According to the press service of the Council on Artificial Intelligence under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, the meeting was organized by SpaceXAI's Global Director of Government Relations, Neil Perkins.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the pilot integration of the Grok AI model as a reasoning layer within the national AI-GOV initiative, implemented by the Artificial Intelligence Council. It was noted that the use of Grok will provide a high-level analytical layer for government AI services and improve the quality of decision-making.
Azizjon Azimi also spoke about the project to establish the world's first dedicated artificial intelligence zone, Area AI, in Dushanbe. According to him, leading international companies such as Perplexity, Cerebras, and Supermicro are already members of the Area AI consortium.
Robert Collura, in turn, expressed SpaceXAI's interest in opening the company's AI lab in Area AI. He stated that this would allow him to attract specialists in forward-deployed engineering and facilitate regional implementation of AI technologies from the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, it was also noted that, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, a special United Nations resolution on the development of artificial intelligence in Central Asia was adopted. A SpaceXAI representative praised the document's principle of self-regulation of artificial intelligence, calling it an important long-term factor in attracting investment in Tajikistan's AI sector.
According to information presented during the meeting, SpaceXAI is a division of SpaceX, created following the merger of SpaceX and xAI in 2026. The company is developing an artificial intelligence and space computing ecosystem, including Grok models, the Colossus supercomputer, and the integration of AI services with the X platform. According to Reuters and Bloomberg, SpaceX's target pre-IPO valuation reaches $1.75 trillion. SpaceXAI's strategy includes the development of orbital AI data centers, space computing infrastructure, and the integration of artificial intelligence into the Starlink global communications network.
