The Third Forum of Linguists from Countries Sharing a Common Language and Cultural Space, entitled "Our Language – Our World," will be held in Tajikistan from October 15 to 18. The Committee on Language and Terminology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan announced this.
The forum is timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event will bring together linguists and researchers from around the world studying and researching the Tajik language.
As noted, the Tajik language is considered one of the oldest languages in the world. In it, outstanding scholars, writers, and cultural figures have created works of global significance, making significant contributions to the treasury of world culture and civilization.
Today, the Tajik language is the native language of millions of people in various countries around the world, including Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, India, and Pakistan. It is noted that Tajiks have lived in these countries since ancient times.
In Tajikistan, the state language is the native language of the majority of the country's population. Its further development is ensured within the framework of the State Language Development Program for 2020–2030, adopted by a resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the Committee on Language and Terminology, the program's implementation is aimed at the sustainable development of the state language over the next decade.
