A roundtable discussion on improving the effectiveness of interactions between law enforcement agencies and the public in maintaining public order, crime prevention, and developing public councils was held in the Rasht district, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
The event took place on June 4, 2026, in the hall of the Pedagogical Institute of the Rasht region.
The round table was attended by the National Coordinator for Police Reform, Police Colonel Tolekhzoda Azam Tolib, the Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Rasht group of districts, Police Major General Fattozoda Abdusattor Abdukahor, the Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Yatimzoda Khotam Akram, the representative of the OSCE Programme Office in Tajikistan Abdullaev Bakhrom, representatives of the public councils of the Rasht group of districts, deputy heads of departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for service, representatives of the media and local authorities.



During the discussions, participants examined issues of police-community interaction in ensuring public safety, increasing the level of legal literacy among the population, crime prevention, and activating the activities of public councils.
Particular attention was paid to the practical experience of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the public. Participants also presented specific proposals aimed at further improving mechanisms for interaction between the police and citizens.
The roundtable discussion resulted in a free exchange of opinions, during which current issues related to strengthening partnerships between law enforcement agencies and society were discussed.
Participants noted that such meetings contribute to the development of constructive cooperation, strengthening public order, and preventing crime. The event was held in a constructive atmosphere and was well-organized.
