On May 12, 2026, the First Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan met with a delegation from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), as well as representatives of the Japan Organization for the Safety of Metals and Energy (JOGMEC). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation in the mining and metallurgy industries. Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in the efficient use of mineral resources and the adoption of modern technologies.



Furthermore, the meeting participants emphasized their mutual interest in strengthening industry partnerships, deep processing of raw materials, developing joint initiatives, exchanging experience, and expanding coordination between the relevant structures of the two countries.
The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in geological exploration, human resource development, and familiarization with Japan's best practices in the mining and metallurgy industries.
