President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank President Zou Jiayi in Beijing. This was reported by the presidential press service.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation and prospects for the further development of mutually beneficial ties.


The head of state praised the bank's contribution to the implementation of important infrastructure projects in Tajikistan and expressed gratitude to the financial institution's management for its ongoing support of the country's sustainable development.
During the talks, particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in infrastructure sectors, including energy, transport and road construction, water supply, digital and green technologies, and agriculture.


As noted at the meeting, a number of important infrastructure projects are currently being implemented in Tajikistan, with the bank providing a total of USD 400 million in financing.
Following negotiations between Tajikistan and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, a Long-Term Investment Plan was signed. More than $800 million from the bank is planned for its implementation.
