In preparation for the April 2026 swimming season, Tajikistan conducted preventative and awareness-raising activities to prevent drownings, according to the Government's Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense.
The events were organized based on the decision of the Advisory Council of the Emergency Situations Commission dated April 13, 2026, No. 2 and the action plan aimed at enforcing rules of conduct on the water, taking necessary measures during the swimming season, and organizing summer recreation for children and adolescents.

The Presidium's working group, together with relevant departments, held meetings with officials responsible for reservoirs, recreation areas, children's camps, and other facilities located on the shores of the Tajik Sea Reservoir and the Syr Darya River. The work was conducted in the cities and districts of Guliston, Konibodom, Khujand, Bobojon-Gafurov, Spitamen, and Jabbor-Rasulov.
During the meetings, participants were given recommendations on creating safe recreational conditions for citizens before the start of the swimming season. Particular attention was paid to the need to install warning signs in areas deemed dangerous for swimming.
Information notices were also distributed among responsible persons.
