As a result of intense precipitation, natural emergencies were recorded in a number of regions of Tajikistan.
On May 3, at around 4:30 a.m., a landslide occurred in the village of 8 Marta in the Khayoti Nav rural jamoat in the Yavan district. As a result, the basement of one residential building was completely destroyed and the coal storage facility of Secondary School No. 59 was damaged. Additionally, nine residential buildings and one medical facility are at risk of further collapse, according to the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan.


On May 2, at around 6:10 PM in the village of Furkat in the Dusti rural jamoat near Abdurakhmon Jomi, a mudflow occurred due to heavy rainfall. As a result, a 100-meter section of the Bakhoriston canal was destroyed, and a 50-meter section of the local road was damaged. Seven residential buildings were threatened, and 48 residents from seven households were evacuated to safer locations.


A mudflow was also recorded in the Panj district on May 3 at around 5:00 a.m. in the village of Vahdat in the Namuna rural jamoat. As a result, agricultural land was damaged: one hectare of barley, 0.3 hectares of potatoes, and 70 hectares of cotton were flooded.
Units of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan and its rescuers are working at the scene of the incidents. Emergency response efforts are underway. The relevant commissions are assessing the damage.
