The leadership of the Football Federation of Tajikistan participated in the 36th Congress of the Asian Football Confederation, which was held in Vancouver, Canada, the FFT reports.

The Tajik side was represented at the event by Vice Presidents Alisher Urunov and Iskandar Jalilov, as well as Secretary General Furkat Akhmedzhanov.

During the Congress, AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa announced the beginning of a new phase characterized by record investments in national and regional associations, as well as the Confederation's clubs. He stated that these results were made possible by governance reforms and increased financial transparency. These changes were reflected in the 2025 financial statements, as well as the 2027–2028 budgets, approved by the Congress participants.

Particular attention was paid to preparations for the 2027 Asian Cup, which will be held in January–February in Saudi Arabia.
In addition, the agenda included reviewing and approving the financial and audit reports of the AFK for 2025.
The leadership of the Football Federation of Tajikistan is also expected to participate in the FIFA Congress, which will be held in Vancouver.
