On April 27, 2026, a protocol amending the agreement on the implementation of a project to simplify trade procedures in Central Asia was signed at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of Minister Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali and Director of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Tajikistan Viktor Wetzel. The document extends the project's implementation until 2029, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.



The project covers five Central Asian countries and is co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and through European Union mechanisms in the amount of €5.2 million.
It is noted that the initiative is aimed at strengthening measures to simplify trade procedures, as well as finding solutions to increase the capacity of transport and logistics companies operating along multimodal corridors.
