The awards ceremony for the winners of the Republican Flower Festival "Sairi Guli Lola" took place at the Sadriddin Aini State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. According to NIAT Khovar, the city of Dushanbe was awarded the Grand Prix.
During the event, the winners were awarded the Grand Prix and first-, second-, and third-place diplomas. The initiators, heads of enterprises, institutions, and other organizations that actively participated in the festival were also awarded certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from the Local Development Committee under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The festival was held in ten nominations: "Best Florist", "Best Alley and Avenue", "Best Parks of Culture and Recreation", "Best Mahalla", "Best Village", "Best Rural Area", "Best Settlement", "Best District", "Best City", and "Best Region".
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziezoda noted that the festival was held in accordance with the Presidential Decree in honor of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence. He stated that it aims to expand beautification and creative work, foster a sense of aesthetics and environmental awareness among citizens, and promote the development and improvement of communities across the country.
In the Best Florist category, first place went to Shodmon Khalilov, a resident of the Ismoili Somoni district of Dushanbe, second place went to Firdavs Zikriyozoda from the Matcha district, and third place went to Ilkhom Kamolov from the Vose district of Khatlon region.
The alley near the Sadriddin Aini monument in the Shokhmansur district of Dushanbe won the "Best Alley and Avenue" category. Second place went to the alley along Vahdat Avenue in Istaravshan, Sughd Region, and third place went to the alley of the Gissar Historical and Cultural Reserve.
In the category "Best Culture and Recreation Parks," first place was awarded to the Rudaki Culture and Recreation Park in Dushanbe, second place to the Khutalon Culture and Recreation Park in Kulyab, Khatlon Region, and third place to the Qalai Khujand State Institution in Sughd Region.
The Istiklol mahalla in Guliston, Sughd region, won the "Best Mahalla" category. Second place went to the Obshoron mahalla in Jaykhun district, Khatlon region, and third to the Vatan mahalla in Vahdat.
In the "Best Village" category, first place was awarded to the village of Varzobkala in the Varzob district. Second place went to the village of Javonon in the Chust jamoat of the Shakhrinav district, and third place went to the village of Ismoili Somoni in the Khuroson district of the Khatlon region.
In the Best Rural Area nomination, first place was taken by the rural jamoat named after Abdullo Abdulvasiyev in the city of Vahdat, second place by the rural jamoat named after Saifiddinov Kabut in the Panj district of Khatlon region, and third place by the village of Jillikul in the Dusti district of Khatlon region.
In the category "Best Village", first place was taken by the jamoat of the village named after Bobojon Gafurov in the Sughd region, second place by the village jamoat of Levakant in the city of Levakant in the Khatlon region, and third place by the village jamoat of Sharora in the city of Hisor.
The Ismoili Somoni district of Dushanbe won the "Best District" category. Second place went to the Dangara district of Khatlon region, and third to the Matcha district of Sughd region.
In the Best City category, Bokhtar in Khatlon Region took first place, Buston in Sughd Region took second place, and Tursunzade took third place.
In the “Best Region” nomination, first place was awarded to the Sughd region, and second place to the Khatlon region.
The goal of the "Sairi Guli Lola" festival is to revive traditions of respect for beauty, promote beautification and environmental improvement, and foster a love of floriculture and natural heritage conservation among the population. Furthermore, the festival aims to beautify communities and attract tourists, thereby contributing to the development of the country's tourism industry.
According to historians, images of tulips are found in ancient archaeological sites. Their role is documented on stone and bronze seals dating back to more than the 20th century BC. In the 3rd to 5th centuries AD, images of the three-petaled flower were present on silverware and seals.
The "Sairi Guli Lola" flower festival, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, has been held nationwide for the eighth year. Winners of the competition are awarded commemorative gifts from the Local Development Committee.
