On April 17, 2026, the 14th meeting of the Supervisory Board of Free Economic Zones of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in the administration building of the Sughd Free Economic Zone. The meeting was chaired by Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Representatives of the country's ministries and agencies participated, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, a report was heard from the Executive Secretary of the Supervisory Board on the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting. Reports were also presented by the heads of the administrations of the Sughd, Dangara, Kulyab, Panj, and Ishkashim free economic zones on their activities in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.
In addition, the participants were presented with the project “Single Window System for Servicing Free Economic Zone Entities.”
Abdurakhmonzoda Abdurakhmon Safarali noted that the country's free economic zones were created with the support of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the government. He explained that their main objectives are to increase production and export potential, attract foreign and domestic investment, ensure employment, introduce new technologies, and address other socioeconomic issues.
During the meeting, representatives of ministries and agencies put forward proposals aimed at developing free economic zones and addressing existing problems. Following the discussions, relevant decisions were made.
