In Kanibadam, 748 hectares of land that had remained unused for many years in the Tukay area are being returned to agricultural use. This was reported by the press service of the Sughd Region Governor.
The development of these lands is seen as a key factor in increasing agricultural production and creating new jobs. Therefore, officials and farmers have decided to use them for their intended purpose.
During a working visit to the city, Sughd Region Chairman Rajab Akhmadzoda supported this initiative and emphasized the need to plant high-yielding crops adapted to the region's climatic conditions.

It was also noted that the implementation of such projects is based on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and is aimed at ensuring food security and economic development.
According to the data presented, out of a total area of 748 hectares, 450 hectares will be provided with irrigation water through the Poiminnaya pumping station, and 298 hectares through the Great Fergana Canal.

According to the cropping plan, 283 hectares are allocated for cotton, 200 hectares for rice and melons, and the remainder for grain. The land is located in the Puloton and Firuzoba jamoats and is considered suitable for growing various agricultural crops.
The head of the region then took part in the cotton sowing campaign at the Enadzhon Boymatova Joint-Stock Company.
Following the visit, the regional chairman instructed responsible officials to ensure efficient land use, adherence to agricultural deadlines, and high yields.
