Stressing that strengthening and developing China-UAE relations is the firm consensus of both sides and meets the expectations of the peoples of both countries, Xi said China is willing to join hands with the UAE to build a more stable, sustainable and dynamic comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two sides should continue to support each other on issues related to their core interests and major concerns, maintain high-level exchanges and strengthen strategic mutual trust, Xi added.
He called on both sides to strengthen the alignment of development strategies and unlock the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in energy, investment, trade, science and technology, and other areas.
The two countries should promote greater progress in cooperation in education, civil aviation, tourism and other fields, intensify people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and thereby strengthen the foundation of public support, Xi Jinping noted.
He called on both sides to strengthen coordination and cooperation within multilateral platforms such as the UN and BRICS, address the uncertainties in the international and regional environment with the stability of China-UAE relations, and make joint efforts to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
The two sides exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region. Xi Jinping emphasized China's position on promoting peace and negotiations, reaffirming that China will continue to play a constructive role in this regard.
Xi Jinping put forward a four-point proposal to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
First and foremost, Xi Jinping called for the principle of peaceful coexistence. He stated that the countries of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf are interdependent and inseparable neighbors. Support should be provided to these countries in improving their relations and promoting the development of a common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security architecture in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region.
Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of upholding the principle of national sovereignty. He noted that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Middle Eastern and Gulf countries must be strictly respected, and the safety of personnel, facilities, and institutions of all countries must be ensured.
Regarding the rule of law at the international level, Xi Jinping emphasized the need to uphold the authority of the rule of law at the international level to prevent the world from relapsing into the "law of the jungle." He called for steadfast upholding of the international system, with the UN at its core, the international order based on international law, and the fundamental norms of international relations, based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
Furthermore, he stated, it is important to ensure development and security through a unified approach. Security enables development, and development helps maintain security. All parties must work together to create favorable conditions for the development of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf countries. China is ready to share with these countries the opportunities offered by Chinese modernization to strengthen the foundations of regional development and security.
Noting that the UAE attaches great importance to developing relations with China, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, in turn, stated that his country is ready to work together with China to implement the important consensus reached between the heads of state of the two countries, to deepen cooperation in various fields, in order to open up even broader prospects for bilateral relations for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
He said the UAE highly appreciates China's responsible and constructive role in international affairs and its active efforts to find political solutions to resolve the current crisis in the Middle East.
The UAE is committed to maintaining close communication and coordination with China to facilitate a ceasefire between the parties concerned, restore peace and stability in the region as soon as possible, ensure the safety of international shipping, and prevent further impact of the conflict on the global economy and energy security, he said.
He assured that the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in the UAE will be effectively protected.
