Penjikent farmers plan to plant potatoes on 2,500 hectares this season, according to the city's press service.
Currently, the city's agricultural farms have already sown more than 591 hectares of early potatoes.
In particular, members of the Rahim Pahlavon farm in the Suzhin jamoat of Penjikent, who have extensive experience in producing high yields of onions and other vegetables, are planting potatoes on a 4-hectare plot this year. Potatoes have already been planted on over 2,500 hectares, and work continues, weather permitting.
Potato planting is actively underway in dehkan and individual farms in all rural jamoats of the city located on flat lands.
