On March 26, as part of a state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev ceremoniously opened the new building of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
The opening ceremony included the lifting of the symbolic curtain from the modern and architecturally designed building of the diplomatic mission.



In honor of the opening of the embassy and the visit of the heads of state, the national anthems of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were played.
After the official opening ceremony, the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan was raised over the building.
Heads of State Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured the embassy complex. During their visit, they signed and expressed good wishes in the Book of Distinguished Guests, emphasizing their commitment to further strengthening the friendly, fraternal, and good-neighborly relations between the two countries.






It is noted that diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan were established on October 22, 1992. Currently, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan operates in Dushanbe.
They also recalled that the new building of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Dushanbe was ceremoniously opened on April 19, 2024, as part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the heads of the two states, Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
